I've used sittercity.com to find people. You have to pay a membership but you could do so for one month to see if you like it. You can read reviews on sitters and many have already had a background check.

I've heard good things about the Mommy Mixer program:
Mommy Mixer :: The Original Babysitter Network Event (http://www.mommymixer.com/sanantonio/ - broken link)

We use Time Out Sitters (here local in San Antonio). However, we've had three different sitters each time. They're all college students, but have had background checks completed on them by the employment agency. However, if you're outside San Antonio proper, she charges an additional 8 dollars for gas for the sitter.

We're actually using the service tonight, finally looking forward to burning a flick with the wife without any kids!

Default Babysitter connections?

So my wife and I just moved back to San Antonio from Oklahoma (where all of her family is), and since we don't have family here to watch our kids I'm trying to see if there are any reputable babysitter clubs/networks in my area, so my wife and I can go out on occasion and have a babysitter come over to the house and watch the kids (I have 3 little ones).

Any ideas, recommendations? We live on the NW Side, near the Hausman and Babcock area....
