I've always heard that one should go here since there are practically no lines. Has this been true the last few months? Has anyobr come here lately for DL services. How was it?

i'm interested in this too. i need to get a new one and every time i go by the babcock one there's a line down to the end of the building and they have pop-up shade things. even though it would be about a 30 minute drive for me, i don't care. i HATE waiting.

I've heard that the lines have gotten worse, but they're still better than the SA lines. It's been a while since I had mine done, but when I did it was in Boerne and I was glad I went.

Went two weeks ago. Takes about two hours fifteen minutes. Get a number, grab some lunch and you should be good.

Get there before about an hour prior to closing or they won't even let you pull a number.

Yeah, it is not the "walk in and head to the window" type situation I was told it was. I went about five months ago and the secret is out.

I had a similar experience to sakssa but mine took a little longer. Maybe 2:30-2:45. Overall, I think I would have been better going to a San Antonio office when you add the driving time up and back.

Oh, and the office is tiny with only a few chairs to sit and wait. And you don't walk up to a window, you sit in front of someone's desk which is pleasant because you don't feel like you are being herded through the a line and being led to slaughter.

It depends on when you go. Just try to get there when they open at 8. I went on a Thursday, was there at 8:30, I think I was 3rd in line. By the time I left, just 30 minutes later, there were still only about 3 or 4 people waiting. The nice gal that helped me said lunchtime to close (3 ish?) is their busiest time.

Boerne was horrible. Went there for a license in June got there at 9am and had six hour wait in a crowded and tiny waiting room and they messed up all the paperwork and I never got the card in the mail. So last week I went to the Universal City DPS and was in and out within an hour. Very nice facilities and waiting room and there's a computer screen showing number called and what service desk to go to.

I also would not recommend Boerne. I had the same long wait times as the above two posters.

Also, since it's a smaller office, the computers are old (or at least they were when I was there in 2010) and it actually impacted the wait time. My wife also received pretty crummy, rude service, even with having extremely low expectations in the first place.

Agreed, Boerne is ridiculous; spend a half hour more and drive to Kerrville!

Hopefully the new DMV on Bandera Road will eventually ease up the crowds, but we went to Boerne month before last to get my son's learner's permit and had we not bailed and went to Kerrville, we would have been waiting over four hours (and this one a weekday!).

Cheers! M2
