Well, according to the package details, we get 1,200 plus 300 per child (total of 1,800). That's not too bad considering we weren't expecting anything at all. Heck, I'd even "settle" for the 600 bucks. That buys a lot of gas, groceries, or a third of a new LCD TV. ;-)

IF we were getting the rebate...I think we would look hard at finally getting an HDTV....but guess that is going to wait a while longer...just can't justify replacing something that still works fine...even if it IS totally substandard now. Lets just say when this one dies, it will probably be the first time we don't fuss to much about having to go out and replace it! LOL

I think I'll just stash mine away for the next round of Bexar Co taxes!!
Or a trip to Europe - either way, not helping the US economy so much, huh?

To be quite frank.. I dont think it will help the US economy anyways. I would gather that most people will bank it.. I know I will... and thats if I even get it.. I think I am in the same boat as some who have already stated "They make too much money"

What most people don't realize is that the rebate is a drop in the bucket compared to the inflation that the Fed has set in motion (on purpose, to try to inflate us out of some of our troubles). In other words, they have robbed MORE than $600 from you (if you save $$), and throw you a $600 check to make you think that they are helping you. They count on the fact that most of our zombie consumer population doesn't have the education or the wits to get this.

Where do they SAY they want you to spend it? On consumer goods. Where do they really expect you to spend it? On interest on your Citicard, or bank credit card. The politicians are all bought and paid for.

And guess what? They are correct. Most "sheeple" don't have the edumakation or wits to get it.
Ever read "The Creature from Jekyll Island"? There are more entities at work here than most can even fathom.

the reduction of the open market rate has destroyed any chance of me getting a decent return on my savings acct. the inflationary measures put into play here will wreak havoc on many of us. this piddly $300 or so is just another gov't scheme to take $$$ out of my wallet and give it to someone who the gov't feels is more deserving. i'd like to get the hell out of Socialist Republic of amerika.
