There is not going to be a Bloomingdales! It would be VERY risky for Bloomingdales to set up their first department store in Texas (for over 20 years) in SA. The fashion mecca's of Texas (Houston and Dallas) would be first.

There is more money in San Antonio than people think to support a Bloomingdales, so looking here before Dallas and Houston is not out of the question. Besides Dallas and Houston have plenty of department stores to go around.

Also, while the site plan for phase II may not show a department store, plans do change. Who knows maybe this is for phase III.

Go back to the Houston forum. Your opinions of San Antonio are biased. The largest cites don't always get things first. (most of the time yes) As for the pic comment let the moderators due there job its not your place. Considering if it is a violation you just repeated it.

Does anyone know what eating places are coming to phase II.

Well for Dallas I would say 1907, that is when Neiman Marcus was founded.

I will say it in terms we can all understand, Bloomingdale's is coming to San Antonio when Disney breaks ground on their San Antonio park.

It's the truth. Dallas is first and Houston are tied. Dallas is home to Neimans though, and Houston lost its department store when Macy's bought Foley's.

Fashion meccas OF TEXAS. Bloomingdales IS NOT coming to SA before these two cities. Especially when there is more disposable income in Houston and Dallas, and both of those cities metro areas are larger than SA and Austin combined. It isn't going to happen.

I'm just trying to help someone out, but it looks like the moderators did their job.

And the largest cities may not get everything first, but this sure is one of those things they do get first. SA just recently got its first Nordstrom AND Neimans. How in the world do you think SA can all of a sudden support a Bloomingdales?

Well, Guerilla, i think that you are right in some of your points, but let me tell you something that is more important, dallas and Houston, may be bigger cities, and for that reason, they have a lot of malls competing for the same market. In San Antonio we dont have that amount of malls, and maybe thats why la cantera, trade more than almost every mall in those cities,
