I think the question becomes what kind of tourist San Antonio attracts? Something tells me it is going to be a different kind of person then say New Orleans or Mrytle Beach.
What type of person would this be? Wonder why none in Memphis either...BB King's is very small and that type of music is very popular in that City. They get a good amount of tourism for MusicFest, Memphis in May,BBQ championships, Graceland, Rock and Soul Museum,Gibson Guitar factory, Beale Street etc..
I know they have some sort of recording studio there..but no actual HOB.

Google house of blues and the Aztec already comes up.

Hopefully this will be a positive for the city.

Speaking of touristy spots, I'm surprised there is not a Bubba Gumps downtown somewhere.

The great thing about HOB is that they are pretty varied in their acts.
I am from SA but live in San Diego and at HOB in SD we've seen everything from the Ataris, to Ramon Ayala, to Jaguares, to La Ley, to The Toadies. They play it all, not just blues.

SA could very well sustain this venue.

Wishful thinking that they'd install a Foundation Room in this location

I can't get excited about a HoB in SA unless it brings in bands that otherwise would skip the city. My friend plays in a fairly major band and he sneeringly calls it "The House of Rules" because of their nit-picky rules.
