I'm 21 years old. In December I'm looking to take a vacation in either San Antonio or Austin. I like to go out to bars and clubs, but I like the settings to be vibrant, but not too crazy. I like live music, but prefer it be jazz, R&B, and neo-soul. I love food! I like shopping malls. I'm also into exploring some tourist attractions. I want to be able to do everything downtown. Which city sounds like it would be the one for me? If there are any other Texas cities that could be good, please don't hesitate to mention!

Austin if you want live music and vibrant setting. San Antonio is a foodie city though (and it shows). Depending how long your vacation is, you can do both cities as they are only an hour apart.

In San Antonio you have the following downtown:

Bars/Clubs (To many to mention but favorites are SoHo, Brooklnite, Blue Box, Esquire, Howl at the Moon, Swig Martini Bar, and Ocho)

For food check out the Pearl
Pearl Brewery

What's the weather like in SA in December?

PS: Given the proximity of SA and Austin, I'd assume that their climates are largely the same. However, SA has a lot more Palm trees. Thus, is SA warmer?

No..it's similar. Palm trees don't naturally grow here. Once past their young stage, they can survive. Supposed to be covered during the cold winter nights. We usually get a few freezes per year. I would say typical December weather to be 60's during the day...40's at night. It can vary though.

If you come to Austin, based on your post, you should def. check out Elephant Room and the Brass House. But I think SA has more to do in the concentrated downtown area. Houston would be a good choice for your wish list as well.
