Default Living in downtown San Antonio... Anyone?

I'm ready to move out of Stone Oak. I'm sick of it.

I'm wanting to know if SA has yet converted some of that great downtown warehouse space into livable units. Not looking to buy just yet, but am willing to put up to $3k/mo into rent for the time being. Anyone know about downtown space or currently live?

I've heard about:

Milmo Lofts
Dielman Lofts
Southend Lofts
Frost Condos
The Bushnell
Pearl Brewery Lofts (too small)
Blue Star (too loud)

Thanks

BN

I need to raise my rents....ALOT!!!! I'm close to downtown, but those rents are just out of site for the size and ameneties. But with no availability in most of them...I better refigure rents do some advertising.

Just for reference, I'm paying $1050/mo + utils for a 1200 sf 2/1 bungalow on a nice street in MP, all updated, modern kitchen (no granite :-) with a fenced yard, and loads of charm. Hope that helps you in figuring the best rents for your places.

I happen to know someone who is a progressive (by San Antonio standards atleast) who bought an entire floor of an old apartment building in downtown San Antonio, gutted it, renovated it, and now lives in an impressive 8,000 square foot open space.

I had never seen anything like that in San Antonio.

Yeah. I'm currently negotiating to move into 6.5k sq ft on the top of the Antiques Building, near Paris Hattery. A friend of mine opened up the whole space and isn't using it anymore. Just got word of it. Would love that kind of open room.

I've noticed the Cadillac Lofts - downtown convenience/suburban comfort - Apartment living in downtown San Antonio, Texas and thought to myself that it would be a good location to live in.

I don't think it's so unusual. Lots of that happening around downtown these days.

I don't know, how close are you to downtown and how fixed up are your units? Most of the places on that list are high end for a reason...that said, the Lavaca Apartments on Eager St (can't recall their name), are over-priced, IMO.

FWIW - I used to rent a 1000SF 2/1 house, large yard in Lavaca for $650/month +utlities. The house was in decent shape, although the foundation sloped like mad.
