Ironically I went to the one on Zarzamora right after I typed that..

Food was very good, but there was a hair on the container. Luckily it wasn't on the food or I would've never gone back. I didn't eat it right away and actually just finished it about an hour ago and am now enjoying the taste all over again in the burps caused by the cheese enchilada. That was my favorite part of the meal though. The borracho beans were really good too and definitely on the warm side. I couldn't figure out what was causing the heat, but it sure was good.
Besides the hair, the cost was my only other issue. It was over $10 with a lemonade and I found that about $2-3 too much..

edit- just found a recipe for borracho beans that calls for serrano peppers and that would make sense because they were definitely quite a bit hotter than jalapenos.

It's a lot like Taco Cabana - but IMO, much better food (although I do like TC too). Yeay, that's closer to my house too!

Yeah, TC has gone downhill fast since they got bought out a few years ago (by a Burger King franchise).

I don't see me ever going back to Mama Margies. My stomach is still on fire and it definitely was not a pleasant day. I basically feel exactly like I did after going to Taco Cabana, which is another place I'll never visit again..
Shame, because it tasted pretty good.

I've never been to Mama Margie's but I looked at some pictures of the food on their website. Looks like they use white tortillas to make their enchilades. That's a bad sign in my book. It probably makes no difference in taste but I'm a little picky when it come to my enchilades. I agree TC has never been the same since the days when there was only one.

the menu said you could substitute corn tortillas for 20 cents more. I personally prefer flour, but that is definitely a personal preference thing

It's for the healthy conscious. I also prefer flour.
