Not bad if you live inside 410 along major streets.

I usually ride the bus when I have to go down town. I use the park and ride. I had to be at the court house (don't ask why). I asked the bus driver if he was going down town. He said he was so I got on board. All I have to do is get down town and I can find anything. He dropped me off at Vista (?) college out on 1604. He told me he would be back in an hour to take me down town. I needed to be at the court house. I was scheduled to be there. I went inside and the college workers were really nice and let me use the phone to call my Lawyer. All I got was his answering machine. I called the court house and they told me that as long as you can get here you will be ok. I didn't know what to do until this guy walked up and told me he was going downtown and would be glad to give me a lift. He was a cool guy. He sold a Hispanic newspaper and distributed it all over town. I asked him how he could come up with things to write about and he told me that was the easy part. The hard part was finding people who would pay for advertising. He took me to the courthouse and gave me a copy of his paper. I got in ok and it was really boring. I started looking at the newspaper and they took it away from me. "THIS IS NOT A PARK BENCH!!!!!!!!

So to get real specific here, San Antonio ranks about number 56 in trips per capita on public transit. The Via buses provide decent service on the specific routes they serve, but there is no light rail or anything of that sort. So when I lived in DC Maryland NOVA, the Metro system was fantastic. We don't have anything that approaches such a system. Not sure that we need it. Would be nice, but systems like that cost huge sums of money.
