The rain was initially expected to start Wednesday night into Thursday, that's why you see posters asking "whahappened"? It arrived later than was forecast.

This happens. In 1998 I was down town at the university hospital to pick up a prescription. It started raining that morning and didn't quit. I watched the news and everything was flooded. I couldn't believe it was the same place I was at hours before. It was totally without warning. The next time it happened they were afraid the Medina dam would collapse. I don't remember the year but we were evacuated to a red cross shelter. I just want to tell you how much fun it is to be there. I understand why people don't want to leave their homes and I don't appreciate these weather men talking about how much rain we are gonna get and how much flooding to expect. If it is realistic that's fine but if it is not or if you really don't know, please tell us and don't worry about your promotion.

I remember that later flood...it was in 2002. DH had just gotten back from Florida. Then all he** broke loose. Where we lived, we had a foot of rain on just one day. Not to mention all the other rainfall. We couldn't go anywhere. Many roads were really flooded bad and then some roads just completely washed out. Then the scare about Medina Lake dam followed.
