Anybody know whats going in on the right side of AR Pkwy, between Westwood and Lone Star? They removed part of the sidewalk and have an entrance there, but it doesn't look like residential, it is fenced in like commercial development...

Someone in the know told me recently when I asked this same question that this land is being developed for an apartment complex. Also, the large clearing that was just opened up on Lone Star will be the new middle school.

Great location for the elementary and middle school - walking distance from the house.

I don't doubt your sources, but I tend to lean towards the "unsure" state until there's some form of plan on paper. There's been lots of speculation regarding buildings and roadways, but rarely a document or facts from the source.
For example, the last documentation regarding SH 151 stretching to 211 is dated 2002. I think the plans may have changed, and word from TXdot is that "there are no plans to put it down the center of ARP." Others say they're "in the know", but I'm still not inclined to believe it until I see it, hard copy, or hard construction.
I can speculate though and if it is apartments, I hope they're nice!

If they're apartments, I hope they're nice, too. I was actually told of the plans for these areas from one of the builders in Alamo Ranch who recently showed me the plat map of the entire Alamo Ranch community. I specifically asked about these two parcels and they showed me where those two areas are located and said they're for the middle school and for apartments.

That plat map would be a great addition as my wallpaper. Any chance you could get a photo with a high-resolution spy camera, or perhaps a scan/internet location/napkin drawings?

Another source of info would be BCAD...look up the owner(s) of the parcels by doing a map search of AR.

Good call, I need to go to sleep, but it looks like Diamond Shamrock (big diamond inc) owns the northeast corner of AR and ARP...
I'll have to look up some more tomorrow!

If you're talking about the middle school, here's a link to the map of AR middle school. Profile : "Alamo Ranch area" : Northside Independent School District - San Antonio, TX 78238. I just drove the area a few days ago and this site is directly attached to the new elementary school.
