I tell ya, if somebody would open a gym in Alamo Ranch it would do awesome business in this part of town. Keep it moderatly affordable and you'll make some bank. If I had the funds and the time I'd be all over it. As a resident we don't have either.

They updated their front page PDF this morning, it's a picture of the current progress with the stores listed.

Will World Market still be at AR?

AirForceDoc, I think there's an Anytime Fitness on the 1604 side across the street from Walmart?

Lifetime Fitness is planning a location close to SeaWorld and expected opening is app. 2 years! That's awesome for us in Alamo Ranch! We used to drive all the way to the 281 location. Now we go to The Rim which is about 1/2 the driving! My husband still goes to the 281 location to play raquetball.

Cool.

I'm a native New Yorker (Bronx), but never heard of Native New Yorker. It's a wing joint operating solely out of Arizona right now. Ironic.

By the way, Dick's Sporting Goods is a really great place. I used to go when I was in Long Island. I prefer it over Academy any day.

Also, I'd love to meet some of you folks that live in Riverstone (D.R. Horton) at AR. Shoot me a PM; I'm usually lurking around the construction area 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately, I'm now at UTSA at 1 in the morning and am not getting my work done while purusing this board....

Right-e-o.Short term interest rates are what's going down which is a shame because it's hurting everyones MMSAs and CDs. My money market dropped to a lousy 3.25. . It's a cop-out stimulus to banks imo (as if they haven't been artifically stimulated enough with fed reserve injections and debt induced demand); consumers get shafted as usual. I would love to refi, but not now. I'm currently at 6.75% from closing last July (-1 DP).

So I saw that they're covering the bridge at Alamo Ranch with stone, thought that was a nice touch. Plus it looks like JC Penny has a "JCP Receiving" sign out. Maybe they're starting to stock the place. Seems a bit early for that.

Keep an eye on the Westwood Center, across Culebra from AR Retail Center:

I hope AR Parkway isn't dotted with car washes, check cashing, fast food, etc anytime soon. It's too pristine and enjoyable.

It is a nice area. However, you'll probably get a toll road through there in the distant future.
