If the appliance is too large to haul to a recycling center, the best option would be haul-away by the retailer, if buying a replacement (many retailers do this), or placing it at the curb, during the City's bulky item collection sweep in your neighborhood. Household appliances are among the items the City will accept during collection, although scavengers will often get them, before the City trucks come around.

I also agree the curb, I actually had a really old 20 inch tv taking up space in the garage. A huge heavy one that we didnt know how to dispose of. We were going to take it as well as a dining room table that was broken and 3 chairs...also broken AND missing legs to the dump. I put it to the curb waiting for a friend to stop by with his truck and within 5 minutes, it was all gone

I found no one wants an old tv sitting by the trash dumpster on on by the curb. Call around and find out where you can take it...do it the right way!
