The location alone tells me that the place will go downhill soon but I could be wrong.

When Furr's first opened there, I loved the salad bar but over time the place was going downhill up until it closed.

Ok guys, thank you for the advice. I have decided against going to a Chinese buffet for the sole purpose of getting crab legs. You are right, the reward just does not justify the risk.

I did get my fix for crab legs though! A couple of weeks ago on Super Bowl weekend, HEB was having a special, $7.99/lb for snow crab legs. I got two pieces for about $10 which is just the right amount for myself. It was delicious!

I recently went to Asian Star, the crab legs were pretty good.

To All,

On a slightly OFF-TOPIC subject: Is there a GOOD buffet for any sort of food in SATX??
(I often have out-of-town company & trying to please everyone from 12-80 YO isn't fun.)

I came back to TX from Northern VA & there were SEVERAL buffets (or various ethnicities) there that had REALLY GOOD food, including an all Thai buffet that was EXCELLENT. Also, Afghani& Indian, etc.
(The Thai buffet belonged to a pair of twins from Northern Thailand, who obviously were "perfectionists" & after 30 minutes threw out all the "leftovers".)

yours, tex

King Buffet. Friday and Saturday dinner only has crab legs. They were fine. We ate tons of them and we're still alive. Lots of Asian people eating there. I consider that a good sign.

Try the 'dragon roll'. It's like a big fat eggroll with some sort of stuff in it and fried. Everything on the buffet was good that I've tried. Even the sushi wasn't too bad. They had steak on the buffet line that I liked even.

It's no foodie paradise but if you like buffets and you like Chinese food give it a try.
