This is weird, so I will ask. My Iphone 6s seems to work all over town, up I-35, or 281 out of town.. However, twice when I got to the Whole Foods and Target on 1604 and Blanco, it cut out with a system failure display or when I connected, the other party couldn't hear me.

When I got away from there, the phone worked just fine.

It could be coincidence and the phone is screwing up but it's weird that it just happened there.

Any thoughts or similar problems?

Some buildings and areas just are dead zones. I go into some hospitals and some stores and do t get any signal. Check to see if they have WiFi and log into their WiFi if you must. Or, just enjoy being disconnected for a bit.

Happens all the time on my iPhone 6 when I'm inside
the H.E.B. on Nacogdoches St.
When I have to make a call, I go towards the front of
the store where the reception works.
I go to a corner and at times I pretend it's
like old times when there were phone booths.

I find it handy using the phone in emergencies,
otherwise, I hardly ever use it for just chatting.
That it doesn't work inside the store is nice
in a way.

The problem likely isn't with your iPhone, it is with your carrier. I'm relatively certain that other iPhones with other carriers work just fine in your reported marginal locations. Find out if other users (android/windows based/non-iPhone) from your carrier experience the same outages. Seek out other customers who *are* using their phones in your reported dead spot area and determine what phone and carrier is.

If *all* carriers and phone brands report outages, the building might be RF (radio frequency) resistant, acting as a faraday cage of sorts (no signal penetration, but wifi and other RF devices located from within work fine.)

The phone checked out and it worked again in that area the other day. Apple 'genius' said it was most likely a local carrier issue. It was the system failure that worried me about the phone.

I also have problems at this store. Noticed when I tried to Google something. No signal at all, just asking me to connect to the store WiFi, which I refused.
I am with T-Mobile.

The Oak Park HEB is legendary for poor or nonexistent wireless reception, apparently regardless of carrier or device. You are pretty much going to have to use the store's WiFi.

It might be worth noting that store has a metal roof, which probably attenuates external wireless signals.

Alamo Ranch is the blackhole for cell phone service with Tmobile or AT&T.

El ... if you go by the entrance/exit of H.E.B. store,
you can get T-Mobile signal reception to work.
I sometimes sit on those huge handicap carts to make a call.
(just kidding)

Sure, but that's not very convenient, when I want to check on a product.
I think they WANT us to use their unsecured Wi-Fi - who knows for what purpose

BTW: I did got a bit curious when I saw a perfectly healthy and fit guy sitting on one of those chairs... Now I know why...
