Hi,
My name is Kait and I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona but am planning on moving to San Antonio, Texas this spring/summer. I'm pretty worried about being isolated and I'm on here as a desperate attempt to see if any normal people want to get in contact and maybe be friends. Let me know if you are interested. I've never done a move by myself before so the isolation scares me.

If you are going to be working here, that's a good place to start building friendships. Finding activities that you like to do is another way. Check meetup.com for groups you can join.

I just relocated to Austin from SA and tried meetup. It's been pretty fun so far. I'm sure SA will have some good ones as well.

There is also a very active and quite large Indian population here in San Antonio. I am certain that you will have no problems finding lots of new friends here in SA! Great food, great folks, it is quite a friendly place actually! WELCOME!!!

Neither one of those places are good idea for making friends...and meetup.com has a lot of introverted anti-social people..so buyer beware..

My main group of friends that I have I met originally through meetup. A women' s social meetup and a running social meetup. We have all since moved away from it since we no longer need it since we have a great circle that is pretty large.

Sometimes you don't want to mix work and social. I am not one to hangout with a lot of co-workers outside the office. Plus we live all over town. My main circle (I met on Meetup) we all live within the same location which is great for last minute gatherings.
