Thank goodness we are so close to Austin (for their radio stations), and for XM radio.

At work we can only listen to the radio in our office. Everything except the country stations and 91.7 is garbage. How many pop/rap stations do we need. 96.1, 98.5, 106.7 (they all have garbage). Where is the good mixture of music? 102.7 is horrible, they play 70 and 80's rock most of the time. 101.9 and 105.3 are the most conservative stations in the city!

If you can get reception from Austin you are lucky. They have a BIG mixture of stations and music, Something for everyone!

I think the radio in San Antonio sucks!!! How about you?

Yes, BOB FM comes in pretty well, and it beats the hell out of JACK FM.

Meh, I listen to Mix 96.1 for Kidd Kraddick in the Morning, KZEP 104.5 is pretty much my main station. Q 101.9 used to play good music, but lately they've been playing a bunch of junk. Jack 102.7 FM sometimes has some good stuff, but they usually play some bizzare music as well. As for everything else...well, I'd say it's not the radio stations' fault. Just music's current trend in general.

I agree with you 100%. I wish I could get the reception to listen to the stations in Austin. 101-X is my favorite. whenever I'm in austin, I always have the radio on. then I come back to san antonio, and all I hear is R&B. if we didnt have 97.7fm, I'd go nuts!

103.5 fm (Bob radio) comes in pretty good 99% on my car fm. Sometimes I can catch other Austin stations here when the wind is right. Jack-fm here, on the other hand, sux compared to Bob-fm Austin. Bob plays a pretty good mix...never know what's comin' next.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's so bad I didn't bother to reprogram my radio when I moved there from Seattle - nothing is even worth a memory setting. Its only use is to control the ipod in my car. Over the air radio in San Antonio is best used to get people to subscribe to podcasts or maybe get satellite radio.

I've felt this way for AGES. I think they're playing the same stuff on 99.5 KISS that they were playing when I was in high school... and trust me, that was a LONG time ago.

I had hopes for JACK FM when it was new but it proved to be a big disappointment. I used to live on the NE side and was able to pick up Austin radio stations and I was so happy. Now I just keep a big stack of CD's in the car at all times.

Agreed 100%!

I've tried both, but I have to say that Sirius has a better selection (as far as the music I dig is concerned: my favorite stations being Alt Nation and Left of Center).

I really kinda get the impression that radio in general tends to suck these days - regardless of your geographic location...well, maybe it does suck a little harder here .

...KSYM 90.1 (SAC radio) plays some decent stuff though here and there.

I've given up on local radio and only listen to CDs when I'm in my car. When I'm home I usually stream BBC 6 Music or L.A.'s Indie 103.1 over my home stereo.
