I'm assuming it's the city. If it's the same dept responsible for the 281 "super-street" then moron is an accurate term

The 281 "Super Street" was a project of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, and was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It was intended as an interim solution.

Well it was there when we returned from our move to NC much to my dismay. Regardless of who is responsible I now have to go through 3 lights to cross 281 and I think it's 7 to get from TPC Pkwy to Encino Rio - and traffic doesn't seem to be any less tied up than before. They've just needed overpasses for 20 years.

As far as a light on SO Pkwy, my friends that use Arrow Hill said they need one because people run the stop sign without slowing down and they feel a light will offer more safety overall. We'll see what the study indicates. I can't imagine it would slow down commute times.

It worked back in 2011, but that was when we had 180,000 less people in San Antonio.

ARMA: Highway 281 Super Street is working

The super street never felt like any improvement the few times I used it.

I don't live in Stone Oak so I am sure my opinion doesn't really matter.

They were out there again this morning at 6:40, but again not in the afternoon.

I agree with Quattro...just sit there during rush hour, and the answer is clear. I have seen traffic backed up to Knight's Cross.

As for the super street...I cross 281 @ Stone Oak/TPC every day. It actually made that quicker for me. The biggest issue I have is the timing of the turn around light. I turn right (southbound) on 281, and the turn around light is green at that point. Until I get to it. I would have to majorly break the speed limit to reach it when it's still green.

They were there at 5:04. Absolutely no backup. They do need to get there earlier as the backup starts well before 5:00

The problem is that the lights are not coordinated so as soon as you go through one, you could get stopped at the next one. The lights turn red too quickly starting at the light at Marshall Road south bound all the way down to TPC because of all the cars making u turns.

And I agreed, an overpass is needed for the past 10 years and things are moving at typical San Antonio Manana speed.
