I'm driving through San Antonio on my way to Arizona with two young children under 5 and two dogs (golden retriever and dachshund).

Where can we stop off of i-10 to let the kids (and dogs) play a little? Any good park recommendations? It would be nice if there is somewhere to grab food near there too. It will be around dinner time when we get to SA.

Don't know where you are coming from, but BUCKEES are a great place to stop, clean restrooms, good eats, lots of souvenir stuff and dog/grassy area along with gas stations! There is one on I-35 and another on I-10 between Houston and SA.

It's been years since I've been but Raymond Russell Park is on 10 West, and there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity. You would basically be "past" San Antonio at that point. I think it closes at 6 so it may not work for you but that's the only one I can think of.

She said they are headed to Arizona so I assume the east to the west.

Just along 10 I can't think of anywhere to stop, unless you go off a bit on Huebner (maybe like 5 miles?) to Orsiger. Is Friedrich the same as Raymond Russell? There's that if it's not the same thing, too. But, again, that's if you get there before dark. During the day all these are great.

You could go on to Boerne, and park along the river/park, let the kids play, then cross the street and select from several nice eateries.

OP still didn't specify where on I-10 she was looking to stop at. Different stretches different opportunities.

Prefer West SA off of I-10. Again, we are driving through SA on i-10.

Here's the address for Raymond Russell park. It's not an off-leash park but I guess it is popular with dog owners.

Raymond Russell Park
