yes prettyhate 78228 is full of houses of the type you posted in the pics. Balcones Heights to avoid confusion is in 78228. Inspiriation hills, across it on Callaghan, south of it are all very nice and very quiet. West of Bandera it gets less expensive but still quiet and well kept homes. In fact I cant even think of a rough area in 78228. I rode my bike from Jeff area to bandera and 410 which is right through 78228 and found it to be as nice as it ever was.

Default 78228

I know the high school that is in this district is Holmes. Is that still a good high school? Also there is the Catholic school on Callaghan if people can do private.

78228 is split between Holmes High School in the Northside District, and Jefferson High School in the San Antonio District. In fact, 78228 begins literally across the street from Jefferson.

78228 has some very nice homes (as mentioned in earlier posts), but, in my opinion, neither school is very desirable. Now Holmes has the advantage of having the Business Careers magnet on campus which is a good option (I knew two kids who went there), but I wouldn't recommend the main campus.

Now before the criticism comes, let me state that I intentionally bought a home in the Jeff area, but always with the intention of sending my kids to private school. I love the area - the homes are architecturally interesting and well kept. I'm not so in love with the schools. Nothing, however, would please me more than for someone to prove me wrong about the schools.

Unfortunately I have to agree. Holmes and Jeff by nationwide standards are great schools. For S.A standards or Texas there not that great. I lived in 78228 and went to Marshall. (hedged a little)

The junior highs and elementarys are fine but the high schools are not that great.
