I was born in San Antonio and my understanding the records are sealed and I'm trying to find my birth parents. I currently live up north so I have no way of personally looking. Is there a way to get access to any birth information. I was born in the 60s. thank you for any help !!

No personal knowledge, but I would call one of the San Antonio Adoption Agencies and get information.

I really don't know anything about the sealing of these records but I think the first step would to be try to get a copy of your birth certificate. Have you done that? Here is a link to do it online:

Texas law mandates that birth and death certificates are confidential records with restricted access.
Texas Public Information Act Section 552.115 (a)(1): Birth records are restricted until 75 years after the file date.
During the restricted access period, birth and death records can only be issued to qualified applicants.

I see there is a new program starting that is being advertised about "Lost Family Found", or something to that affect. If you can not afford a private detective to search on your behalf, perhaps you could contact this program and see WHAT possible resources (or maybe they would even be interested in your story/search) might be available to you in Texas.

As the momma of several adopted children, altho our kids have had no contact with their birth parents (except 1 who still has contact with her birth momma) we have never felt threatened or offended should our children decide to know more about their birth parents. Unfortunately tho, sometimes birth parents have put that part of their live in a "safe box" and not shared it with others as their lives progressed.

I pray your journey helps you find peace and if peace is not in the cards then I pray your journey leaves you with unanswered questions vs pain.
