There might not be a ton of places to eat at La Cantera, but more and more are going in at the Rim, and DeZavala, which is chain restaurant central, is only a couple miles away down 10.

That's true. De Zavala/I10 would probably be the best bet looking for food. La Cantera and the Rim are pretty desolate right now. You might want to look for a hotel further in along I10, although Six Flags is the closest landmark. (Other landmarks not on the website are UTSA and the Medical Center).

People here call the Interstate Highway either I10 or IH10. Be careful in San Antonio, because I10 East goes in a basically southern direction through most of San Antonio. After passing the downtown area, you have to change highways and make a sharp left in order to stay on I10/Houston, which then starts going east again to Houston. It merges from state highway 90.
