Has anyone taken a "Twogether in Texas" pre-marital class in the San Antonio area? Completing a class which qualifies under this program reduces the cost of a Texas marriage license by about $60, so I would love to find a free or low-cost class in San Antonio. Your recommendations would be most appreciated and helpful. We are coming at this from a Christian perspective but a secular class would also be fine.

So far, I have been able to confirm that the Family Service Association of San Antonio and the Family Life Center of St. Mary's University are not currently offering these classes. Any leads would be most welcomed.

Have you looked at their website? They've got a search feature to find the class locally. Welcome to Twogether In Texas - Home Page At the bottom of the search results you can sort by fee or no fee.

It looks like the classes are mostly multiple sessions spread over time. Personally, my time would be worth more than the $60 that I'd save going to the classes. You might discuss that with your future spouse, if saving $60 would be worth going to a class that met once a week for a couple of months.

Yeah....if you're only going to save a few bucks on the license, not worth it.

If you're going because it'll be nice to save a few bucks, but you're more interested in how to ensure your union will be a long one - then personally, I'll go to a faith-based premarital counseling via my local church.
