Since I will be new to the area (next month, yay!), I will be searching for the right church home. I love diversity (ethnicity/race) so I'm looking for a church that has a good mix of all races and backgrounds. I'm looking for non-denominational churches. Any experiences, links, advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What type of atmosphere are you looking for? What size congregation is acceptable? How far do you want to drive? If you want something small and intimate it would be silly for people to recommend something like Cornerstone.

I'm looking for a laid back but genuine atmosphere. I'm open to mid-sized, not too small but not extremely large in terms of congregation. As far as drive, I don't know much about the area except that I'll be in the 78210 zipcode but don't want to have to travel over half an hour to get there. Thanks

Might take a look at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. It would be down HWY 90 from you and shouldn't take long to get there. It's on the corner of Hobart and 40TH. This congregation is mixed ethnically but primarily black. They do not mourn the death of Christ, they CELEBRATE his coming. The most up beat, positive church I've ever been in. If you go, expect to come away with many friends.

There are so many "non denominational" churches around. Some that lean more towards a conservative side, and others more pentacostal with flailing about and speaking in tongues.

I like Community Bible Church myslef
