Question Westover Hills, Alamo Ranch or Bella Vista?

My hubby and I are relocating to San Antonio this summer. We lived there several years ago in Westcreek. We are now looking at 1604 and Potranco (specifically Bella Vista and Redbird Ranch), Westover Hills and Alamo Ranch. We are very concerned about the look and feel of the neighborhood and schools. Also, with AR being so large we are wondering if we build there-will they be building for the next 20 years. What is your opinion of these areas?

I feel that the community will be completed within the next 5 years. Especially with how fast San Antonio is growing. Real Estate as slowed down for sellers but the market for buyers is still there.

I live at Military and 1604 just inside the loop by Sea World and love the area. I also thought of moving to Alamo Ranch but have decided that until I know how they are going to fix the traffic flow I will wait. (There is really only 2 possibly 3 soon ways out of Alamo Ranch) I do know that 1604 from Braun to pass 151 has gotten really bad with all the lights they have put up.

I am not sure when you were last here in SA but it is different than it was just 3 years ago.

My husband is military and stationed at Lackland and the travel time is around 15 min but he goes 1604 to 90.

I work at IH-10 and Huebner and travel time in the morning on 1604 is around 1 hour. (Peak time of the morning & 5:30pm traffic) The 410 traffic depends on lane closures.

Thanks for the information. Do you think that these three areas are comparable?

No, I am new to this. Just trying to narrow down a neighborhood.

Default Depends on where you work

When we looked at houses, we looked in these 3 places, but both my husband and I work at Lackland. We don't hit a traffic light until we get to Military. Our commute is about 15 minutes. Bella Vista is a great development. We bought a Highland Home and really like it. The grounds are well kept and it is just big enough to remain like a family friendly atmosphere. Alamo Ranch looks like a great and up and coming are, but the traffic up that way is horrible around rush hour. I am glad that we decided against it. We looked at Westover Hills but there was just something about Bella Vista and we really liked what the builder had to offer.

Thanks. We are planning to come out in a few weeks to check out the neighborhoods in person. My concern with Bella Vista was the elementary school. I hadn't heard much about it in the way of positives. Of course traffic is the issue with AR. The houses in Bella Vista seem really nice. Do you know anything about the builder C-Rock that is building there?

I live in AR. I can tell you that in my opinion, traffic is not an issue. Besides, Culebra is being widened, likely soon to be complete and they're planning a phase 2 widening for a year or two out. Also, other frontage roads are being built. I wouldn't worry too much about it because anyone who says their community doesn't deal with traffic probably lives on an on-ramp.

If with one of the directions now opened to 2 lanes, it's made a significant difference already.

I did not know so many cars and trucks were turning onto the Westwood loop until they recently finished that turn lane.

We are moving to Bella Vista from Mobile, AL. Our house is not yet finished, but we love everything that we have seen so far. It seemed like a better fit for our family than AR.
