Default K-Mart Stores

Are their any K-Mart stores in San Antonio and/or surrounding area?

I went here and did a search for 350 miles from San Antonio. Found one in Kileen, Portland, Laredo:
Consumer Electronics | Clothing from Levi Strauss Signature & Jaclyn Smith | Home Decor Ideas from Martha Stewart Everyday | Kmart.com

K-Mart closed all of its stores here and moved out of the San Antonio market in 2003. I visited every K-Mart store in town during the inventory liquidation and came away with cart after cart full of bargains.

K-Mart pretty much left all of Texas sans a few stores in small towns.

yeah K-Mart is long gone. I remember, back in my hooligan skateboarding days, when the one across the street from my neighborhood shut down, my friends and I were able to get through the back door and skate around the inside- it was very interesting and fun, but probably illegal now that I look back at it. lol.

One of my friends found a fire extinguisher, sat down on his skateboard, and fired the fire extinguisher at an angle down at the ground- it actually gave him propolsion across the store. My other friend (who was actually a really talented skater, so "don't try this at home") actually got on top of one of the shelving units (which are what, like 6 ft. hight and very narrow?) and was able to push himself just right, ollie (-jump) off of it, and land.

good times, good times...

I remember when the Super K-Mart was built just outside of Loop 410 and South of Marbach. There was a large billboard in front of K-Mart and Walmart used that to advertise its store down the street!

Nope, but there's still one in Corpus (at least there was last summer). We were quite shocked to see it, and actually turned around to stop by. It was a dump but we haven't been in one since we went to Tulsa earlier in the summer (that one was a dump as well, it is no wonder they are going under! But we still have some fond fascination with Kmarts!).

Cheers! M2

I did a 300 mile search based on my zip code, and got the following results:

Quote:

1101 FORT HOOD ST
KILLEEN, TX 76541

4565 S 1ST STREET
ABILENE, TX 79605

1400 WILDCAT DRIVE
PORTLAND, TX 78374

5000 SAN DARIO
LAREDO, TX 78041

210 S EAST GEORGIA A
SWEETWATER, TX 79556

1801 SOUTH 10TH STRE
MC ALLEN, TX 78503

1129 MORGAN BLVD
HARLINGEN, TX 78550

2440 PABLO KISEL BLV
BROWNSVILLE, TX 78526

3701 NORTH 23RD STRE
MC ALLEN, TX 78501

1405 EAST EXPRESSWAY
MISSION, TX 78572
So we still have some left in Texas. I would say Killeen is the closest, it is 154 mi – about 2 hours 39 mins away; and the one we were in was in Portland, not Corpus.

Cheers! M2

p.s. Sorry Malone, I just realized you did the same...

Isnt Portland a suburb of Corpus? I would say it is pretty much Corpus..
