Howzit,
I wanted to ask where is a better place to buy a home? In Helotes vs Alamo Ranch area (off of Culebra)? My interests are in Helotes is KB Homes and in Alamo Ranch New Leaf homes or DR Horton homes. I appreciate everyone's opinions. I currently live in Helotes off of Braun.

Thanks friends!

KB= No way! Huge traffic mess around Alamo Ranch, so say those that live in that area. Good luck.

I've heard that KB has a bad reputation around here. Also heard from a friend that New Leaf is not a trustworthy construction company. They lost their earnest money and walked away. NL dumped their new home's lumber on the lot and left it there for a whole year-couldn't get a hold of anyone at the company. Careful what construction company you chose here, lots of scumbag-low quality and crappy work. Our friends are happy with Highland homes, and I heard a lady say food things about their homes through Armadillo. Shavano Park builders there are good but pricey.

There's nothing they could do to entice me to buy a KB home - period. Stay far, far away is my suggestion.

KB Homes= Cheap, bad quality. They entice people with their large square footage, but who wants to live in a badly built "box"?

You're talking pretty much the same area. Helotes now spans to Shanefield Rd which isn't far from Culebra. No to KB heard mixed things about New Leaf may want to look for another builder. There are a lot of great ones in that corridor, David Weekley, Ashton Woods, Perry etc..

I would advise to stay away from KB....and the traffic can be difficult in both locations. The GOOD news is lots of the current traffic congestion issues are being worked at the Culebra 1604 area....but will take time.

I have a Weekley and love it!! Much pricier per sq ft than the builders the OP mentioned but so much better quality
