$50,000 homes?!?!
I was doing a realtor.com search for homes in San Antonio for possible relocation and was astounded to find tons of 4-bedroom homes for as little as $50,000! What's the catch? Was there a huge flood recently? Later, I'll plug the addresses into http://floodsmart.gov and check them out, but anyone know off hand why such low prices for so many houses?

Are you certain they are not "mobile estates"? (trailers???)

Positive! They're actual "stick built" houses!

I came across about 7 houses, 4 bedrooms, asking 50k but all on the "bad" sides of town.

If you map the locations, I bet you'll find that those places are located near the red dots on this map (broken link).

Location location location.
A few years ago you could buy a house in our 'hood for that little - of course needing a lot of work, but many were quite livable. Now you can't get one for under $200K.
