Last year I went to a New Year's Eve mass (not midnight) at a Catholic church on the east side, east of I 37. I think I went out Houston Street from downtown. Priest was named Bob, I think.

It was a nice come as you are event, pot luck. The service wasn't in a chapel it was in sort of a living area. We mingled, then had the service, then mingled and ate. I thought it was a very nice way to end the year.

I'm out of touch with the people I went with last year and I"m trying to remember where exactly it was. I understood it to be an annual event.

I've looked at Google Earth and tried to re-tract my route but that didn't work.

Any ideas of where I might have been?

St Patrick's (just north of I-35, east of I-37)
Holy Redeemer Nevada St. You could go via Houston St then turn south
St Gerard's on Iowa St (out from Chavez St)

These are all in that general vicinity.
You can also check out the archdiocese web page which may have some info

Thank you. We went east on Houston out of downtown then made a left then a right. I'm sure about those turns. I'll look at your suggestions and maybe drive during daylight and see if I can stumble upon it.

Thx

If that's the case, then St. Patrick's fits that, but it's just on the other side of I-35.

I think there is a church near the Healy-Murphy Center and that could fit your description, but I can't find it on the map.

I drove all over the east side yesterday and couldn't find it. I'm beginning to think maybe this was in a re-purposed school and not in a church, per se.
