wCat, I remember Edge Falls. It was a great place, crystal clear blue water in a big natural pool, surrounded by large, smooth cave-type rock. It seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. One minute you are walking in a pasture and then you came to a large
depression, kind of like a cave but without a roof. When I went ther I was 16 or 17 and rode with some other people, so I didn't really know how to get there. I remember ther being a natural rock slide with water that would send you down probably 30 ft. to the water. This was in about 1972. It was really an amazing place and I have told my kids about it. It is a shame if it no longer exists.

The Joesphine area. We used to buy beer as minors at the curve drive inn.

I went back to Rollercade a few years ago and it brought back such good memories. The only thing different was the music.

It appears that looking down from Google Earth that the Rollercade, Putt-Putt and Batting Cages are still all there. Amazing. if you think about it. This will date me, but I remember going to the Rollercade and listening to "The Niight Chicago Died" by Paper Lace over and over there. Also I remember my cousin hit a putt on the 18th hole all the way to Recoleta. And he wasn't horseing around, he had trouble getting up the ramp so he put a good whack on it and there we were chasing the ball all the way through the parking lot and down to the street. Good times indeed.

I last went to putt putt about 4 years ago and an elderly couple was running the place, I think that was the last time it was open.

Interesting..I never knew a bowling alley existed on Blanco by Allena Village....I think I might know what building that used to be. Do you remember what the streets around it were?

The last time I went skating was at Shenandoa on I10. I remember hearing AC/DC "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap."

Shenandoa was the end of the world (san antonio). We were from another part of town and envied the kids who had there own skates. We had to rent ours. IH10 was a four lane highway and had a large grassy median on either side. There was one apartment complex just passed it on the access rd. and is still there. After that there wasn't much developement at all. A gas station at De Zavala and that's about it.

Rollercade also used to have a go-cart track next door and a small pinball arcade. It was also the place where I played one of my first video games. There were more pinball machines than video games. I played Stunt Driver. Here is a pic from the screen:
