I also found this one of the old Karem's Restaurant on the Northside. Apparently, they were closed on Mondays. This one brings back a lot of memories.

TCS,
I cannot I believe I found these. I never expected to find anything about this place and assumed it was truly Gone and Forgotten. Thank's for the name, otherwise I wouldn't have realized what I found.
The associated text reads "Algo Diferente, Summer Home of Mrs. Ablert Friedrich, San Antonio, Texas.

Primo, you'll be interested in this:
I'm researching this family and found this is the same family that donated the land for Friedrich Wilderness Park. Turns out they also owned the land that the Crownridge neighborhood stands today.

And it turns out Albert Friedrich was the original owner of the Buckhorn Museum. He started it.

GWhopper, you are incredible..great pics of NSM.
I think the pic with the fountain in thte foreground is from the dining area of a drug store (Kresge's?) It wasa\ at the end of the mall, roundish area kinda sticking out from the store, very kewl counter and boothes...if I'm correct, at the left of the picture is either a Wyatt's or Luby's...I think to the right, just out of the picture was a San Antonio Luggage Company...or am I just full of jumbled memories?
Oh, Primo..you were there with me and GWhopper? We have to shoot some pool and share horror stories!

So I think the whole Algo Diferente thing gives me a little better take on my earlier post regarding the history of the area I grew up in, namely the Colonies North area along Wurzbach and I-10. So this much I know, and this has taken me untold hours of research on the internet which has really p*ssed off my wife a few times (At least it's not porn, baby!):
The original Wurzbach estate is still near the corner of Fredricksburg and Wurzbach. The Wurzbach famliy farm was where Colonies North and the Summit at Colonies North are now (the old farmhouse is still there nestled among the houses from the 60's and 70's and this is attested to on the Wurzbach estate website) so that covers the land from I-10 to Vance Jackson. That means the answer to the question that so many people have asked, "What was the building at Elm Creek before it was Elm Creek?" is..........Algo Diferente, the summer home of the wife of the guy who opened the Buckhorn Saloon!!!
However, this does not get me any closer to my original query: what is the history of the Wolfe's Inn Resort, which seems to predate and be contemporary with both the Wurzbach's and Algo Diferente? Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Any memories of the place when it was a restaurant in the 1960's and 70's? All I have found is this lousy postcard:
It's not even a photograph, just a painting!!! I'm like Ahab hunting the whale here!

Yeah, Primo was there. He was the smart one and got out first. Funny thing is, I just had dinner tonight with a bunch of former and current employees from there. As we were driving home, my wife said to me "Wow, you people really hate that place. It must be kind of like where I work." I just looked at her and said "Not even close. You have no idea."
I'm pretty sure to the left of the picture was, and still is, a Luby's. I don't remember a Wyatt's ever being there, but I think this picture was taken before I was born, so I don't know if Luby's displaced Wyatt's at one time. But I do remember the San Antonio Luggage store. It was right were you said. I think the Walgreen's moved in there and is still there, but I haven't been to the mall in about a year, so I could be wrong.

Those North Star mall pics are awesome, thanks.
The Walgreen's later became Foleys. I guess the Western Auto is where Walgreen's moved to in the early 80's. The Zales jewelry is still there, I believe. That looks like the snack bar in the middle (outside Luby's), but I think later it may have been more enclosed.
