TCS-did you ever go to the Turtle Creek Country Club when it was open? My dad was in an office in a Datapoint building right off the fairway there. I remember going to work with him as a kid and people complaining about the golf balls hitting cars in the parking lot. We ate at the country club one time, and I can just vaguely remember it. I remember there was kind of circular ramp that ran around the edge of the dinning room from the main entrance, but that's about it.
What a mind blurr that place is. I remember it, that is about it. Now that I have initiated a mind search, let's see what comes up!

I don't remember a record store where Luby's is now at North Star Mall is now, but I do remember one across the little square from there, where the video game store is now, or to the right of it.

My guess would be the Record Hole. But that was located approximately where the food court is now. Edit: Whoops TCS already answered it

My parents have acreage near Potranco and Talley Rd where I grew up but that was so far out in the boonies in the 70s and 80s that all my buddies from high school lived either in Helotes or off Babcock and Huebner on over towards Bandera so that's where I hung out mostly.

I spent most of my cash at Record Hole #2. When i was spinning vinyl at the Christal Pistol, Dan, the other DJ who was my room mate and I bought and toted our own collections to the bar. We wrote the play list. RC#2 has a great Import section.

I grew up and lived in Castle Hills, then Hill Country Village, back when there was NOTHING but the drive in. It was seriously country ('72), all my parents' friends thought they were nuts to move 'out there'. I remember Turtle Creek CC, Canyon Creek CC and driving to the lake up San Pedro/281. There was a phenomenal BBQ place up there...name???
