BTW: There was a Whataburger on Goliad Road until the late 80's, early 90's, yup there is a bakery there, but it looks neglected, may be closed if you go by the tagging on the A-frame.

Anyone remember 'Donut Hut" on the corner of Goliad? Winn's - b4 they went out of business... The 'Ice Pick' ( a bar by my stepdad (RIP) now a resturant...

Yep, I remember all of those places. I even attended a wedding at the Ice Pick one time. That was.....well.....different. Cool time though and the couple is still married. That must have been 15-20 years ago.

yes.

Fargos was as prolific as fruit flies back in the day....it's a shame they went belly up. Pizza was fairly good as best as I can recollect....

It's funny I was talking about that place earlier today, they still have 3 locations in Austin.

I am glad to know there was a fourth. I question the negative response to the post.
I thought this was a data-fact finding forum, with errors on almost every post.
I stand by the fact that there were only two Robert Hall clothing stores, Tom Mcan sold loafers and white socks were the norm in the 50's and 60's.
No problem, 49. I didn't take your message that way. It's always hard to determine a person's tone in written communication. I was just saying I could definitely confirm the Shakey's on Goliad.

As far as Robert Hall, boy, I just barely remember that store. I was in the one on Loop 13/Military a few times, but I think we always considered it an "expensive" store! Most of my clothes came from the stores in McCreless Mall - "The Big M". Man, I still can't believe that place has been torn down...

Do any of you remember the pizza joint on Fred. Rd. Last time I looked it was a day care center. They use to have the candle wax everywhere. My girlfriend and I use to go there often. It wasn't too far from Fred Rd. Drive In. I looked in the Jeff annual for an ad, but didn't see one. I did see a good ad for Buddy's. I'll post it in a few minutes.
