I remember a Whattaburger on Goliad that we could ride our bikes to from Gayle Avenue. They were the best burgers I ever ate...but at $0.55, it was only an occassional treat. My weekly allowance was $0.25.

A little over two weeks is a long time to wait for a hamburger! But, those were the days.

Has anybody been by Tip Top lately? I live in the area and everytime I drive by there is a loooooooog line out front. I guess the Food Network exposure clued everybody in plus every tourist wants to try the famous chicken fried steak and onion rings. Better be prepared to wait more than an hour to be seated. The line starts early (5ish) and their still standing in line at 7ish. I guess I will not be eating there because I am not going to stand in line for Tip Top. Maybe the celeb status will wear off... it always does. Now I am really wanting a CFS and onion rings!
