I do remember both signs. The one on I-35 had to have been seen by many more people. Yeah, I think you could just smell the bread.

That was a cool sign - ahead of it's time.
In the very early 1970s, some acquaintances of mine,
climbed up to it in the dark of night,
and painted a roach onto one of the slices.
I think the roach survived for a few daze before it was painted out.

A few days? Or a few months? That acquaintance of yours, happened to be an ex-husband of mine! LOL

That's no way to talk about a roach! The I-35 sign was awesome. Who remembers Muntz on Broadway? You could get all the Jimi Hendrix you wanted on 4 track or 8 track tapes. I preferred Steppenwolf and the Doors.

Mud thank you very much for the listings, i quoted 51 stores because an E-N article a few years back gave that number. Any chance of listing the heb stores from that directory? Thanks again

Fellow wrestler Jose Gonzales was charged with Brody's murder,

was later acquitted (after Tony Atlas' refusal to testify against Gonzales,
which was a crushing blow to the prosecution).
Brody's murder remains "unsolved."
