SE side memories
I've been reading this thread for awhile , decided to join in.
I grew up out on Foster Rd. across the street from a little beer joint
called The Chatterbox. I think it opened about 1968 and closed in or
around '91 or '92. There was also a Purina feed store and Texaco
gas station next door. The road made a bad curve about 150 yards
away, and there have been many accidents and deaths associated
with it over the years. Does anyone remember the Webb's Food Store
@ Foster Rd. & Hwy 181. The building is still there but they went out
of business in the early 80's. In the 70's the Greenway sub-division was
new and their pool was open to the public for a small admission fee.
That was the first time I ever dove off a diving board. I remember they
had a snack bar, popcorn and red Fanta soda . Fishing was also a big
part of my summers. We used to fish under the bridge on Foster Rd.
that went over Calaveras Lake. Some nice catfish once in a while.
I remember dodging the CPS security guard that came around and
hoping he never stopped and came under the bridge. All for now.

Howdy, yes I remember Webb's. My cousin lived back there somewhere. He could fish right off the road in a little piece of Calavera's Lake. Back in the 80's I guess!

I guess we could talk about Mitchel Lake back in the day. I am glad it's better but I will never forget how it was. Calaveras Lake has much nicer memories!

Does anyone know where the old pizza hut was downtown (Now I think its a mirror maze), how it was a saloon back in the day. I wondered if anyone knew when the saloon was closed.

Something about one the weirdest burials ever. That's why she was
