Default Midget Mansion

Ok, I have finally read all 500+ pages of this thread. After reading about Midget Mansion, I realized that it was actually a house that I had a fascination with as a kid, but never new the legend associated with it. I loved the house so much, I took a picture of it around 1977. I had braces at the time, and my orthodontist was out in the medical center, so I would make my mom go the back way down Tupelo, which dead ended into Donore Place. At that intersection was this mansion. I'm attaching a scan of the picture from 1977, along with a photo I took at about the same spot when I was home over Christmas.

I hope this works.......

That's interesting.. I used to go to Sherman every now and then. That place was just full of stuff- some of it looked like it had been there for years.

I could have sworn. I saw this commercial On a special or ON a tape I had, but can't find it. My memory might be a little altered. Here is small write up on that commercial.

Mike Persia Chevrolet

Mike Persia had several auto dealerships in the South, but veterans of the industry here in New Orleans say that Mike Persia Chevrolet was definitely locally owned and operated.

In the familiar Mike Persia Chevrolet commercial, a male baritone vocal was accompanied only by a Mid-East sounding drum. On TV, the jingle was accompanied by the Mike Persia logo- a still Persian looking cartoon character wearing a fez and playing a large drum with his hands. Later, on TV, only the hands moved:

Get your Chevrolet from Persia,
Mike Persia Chevrolet.

With permission from BudB....the picture of the postcard of Mike Persia's auto dealership at N Nueva and N. St Mary's Street. You can see the Plaza bldg in the background in the upper right hand corner and the Bexar County Courthouse in the mid left corner. (From his book)...

This one is from the Mike Persia Used Auto Lot. Anyone remember where this one was located?

Hey PJ...what a treasure you have in that photo! All the discussions that have been about that house and you apparently have the only photo! Hang on to it! I've made that short cut many times ....but long after the house was gone.
