Does anyone remember Scratch on Fred. Rd & 410 (after Doc Holiday's)? How about the "Hip Bone"? I think it was off of Nackoma & 281 or Rhapsody & 281? They had those cool Plasma lights! Rockwave! It was off of Perrin Beitel & 410, some nights it got pretty rowdy........

Maybe somebody can help me with this: there was a bakery in North Star Mall in the early 80's, near the entrance to the Food Court. They made cinnamon twisties, etc. I think they had animatronic elves or something, and a cool-looking machine you could watch make the food. I have very vague images, but remember loving that place. Maybe I'm dreaming it up...

Someone's probably thinking of Fred Gomez Carrasco.
I love Joe King Carrasco. He and his band are a HOOT! "Buena, buena, buena all the time.. buena, buena, buena on my mind." Joe King Carrasco is Anglo, oddly enough. To my knowledge, he's never revealed his real name -- not even to his band members!
When I was young, the only convenience stores were the Lone Star ("icehouse") and Mr. M. I'd heard of them newfangled 7-11s but never saw any until I guess the late '70s or so?

You're not dreaming, it was real. I asked about that place on page 70, I think. The place with that sold Churros (cinnamon twisties is what you called them). No one has responded to what that place was called but it was a cool shop. I dont even remember people working there I just remember those elves or whatever they were.

I think his real name is Joseph Teutsch, from Dumas Tx.
