In the mean time, I'll be checking out this SA page, to get to "know" yall, just a bit. Also, if anyones so inclined, DM me, and we can talk. See you there.

Just found out we can't make this one...my DH Aunt lives near Dallas and their kids are planning a surprise party for her on that Friday evening...since it IS her 81st Birthday, we will be in attendance...with a good showing expected.
Hate to miss our first gathering, but at 81 yrs young she DESERVES everyone to show up! (Besides, guess what kind of HE*$ we would get from family that made it in from South Dakota for this if we missed it LIVING in Texas!!!!) For some reason, EVERYONE things that if you both live in Texas, you must live CLOSE to each other!!!!

Romy, I live closer to Beaumont, but if I was going to spend one day in Houston, I would go downtown to the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences (HMNS.org), visit the Galleria (just off the 610 west loop @ Westheimer), and end the day watching the sunset at the Kemah Boardwalk entertainment center. Have fun!

I would think NASA would be good. I lived there 8 years from 68-76 and never went to see it. But I wasn't a tourist either. Make the Galleria number 1 on your list. You and your mother can go shopping and it is a beautiful mall. The first of its kind in the nation.

nș 1: Galleria - nș2: NASA nș 3: HMNS - Heavy programme just for a day, ins't it?
I would like to see the sunset at the Kemah Boardwalk entertainment center as suggested by southeasttexas...depending on the weather this day and on our physical conditions ....on our way back to SA we will be exhausted!!!

When you're at NASA, you'll be right next to Kemah. So plan your agenda that as soon as you leave NASA you'll drive a few miles to Kemah.

Romy:
Here are a couple of pics I took in Kemah in 1973 for the Houston Post. The young lady was my next door neighbor and the guy was a customer of mine in a convenience store I use to manage.
