Looking for good Yoga Classes
I'm looking for Yoga classes that are decently priced and don't require a supplemntal gym membership. Recently took some with NISD, 6 classes for $40, but most Yoga studios charge $10 to $15 for ONE class. Anybody know any great deals?

Are you also considering Bikram Yoga, otherwise known as hot-room yoga? If so, there's a location in the chain in Hollywood Park (281/1604). Small studio, but good classes. They're a little overpriced IMO ($16/class) and they pack their classes just a little too full at times, but the instructors are great and the overall vibe is really upbeat.

I'm not sure what part of town you're in, but I just recently discovered a place in the Stone Oak area that gives yoga lessons. It is Kaizen Karate and Fitness. They have yoga and yoga/Pilates classes. The price didn't seem too steep, either. You can Google them, and they give the rates and times.

Synergy Studio in the Pearl District off Broadway has lots of yoga, dance and related classes, including NIA on Sundays. It's a wonderful atmostphere, and you can buy classes in blocks of tickets. They start at $15/class but if you buy blocks of 10 or 20 classes it drops as low as $9 a class. Periodically they'll have a "free" day for you to come try out all the classes and get a feel for the studio so that may be a good time to check it out. I really like the vibe there. I was amazed at the nearly 2 dozen places that showed up on a map when I did a Google search for 'San Antonio yoga." There must be even more options than that, since Mrs. Bowie knows a yoga teacher who works out of a studio on Wurzbach Parkway that I couldn't with my search.

Oh yea, there are tons of places but I was really just hoping to find one priced similar to NISD at 6 classes for $40. I guess I'll have to resign myself to paying at least double that.

Wow, they look awesome! I like the fact that you pay per session. I did the classes through NEISD, too, then signed up with Fit For Her (that was the place giving the lessons, now it's called Bella Fitness). Anyway, this seems much more flexible...(no pun inteneded)
