I know this may sound silly, but I would not buy from Billy Bob simply because of his commercial on the radio. It is the most annoying thing I have ever heard! I cringe everytime I hear it. They play it all the time on WOAI and I know I've heard it on other radio stations. I immediately change the station when I hear it come on. I e-mailed WOAI to let them know how much I hate that commercial, but never heard back from them. My husband e-mailed Billy Bob and he got a reply right away. He said that he enjoys the commercial (of course) and asked us to come in so he can give us a great deal on a mattress. Never!!!

To the OP: I recommend Costco as well. I have heard great things about them. Good luck!

We just moved into our new house and are in the process of purchasing new beds for our 4 girls. So far we have purchased two bedroom sets. Both matresses were purchased at HEB Plus off of Blanco and 1604. The best deal I feel they have is if you are buying only a twin mattress and do not need the box spring, they will sell you the mattress only for $99. My daughter got the pirate bed from Costco and I used the bottom drawer as a trundle. It was perfect for me because I was able to just buy 2 mattresses. I also purcahsed a queen set (which they also sell seperately, but I needed both pieces) for $299. It is a Sealy brand and is a little on the firm side. Both of my daughters are happy and sleep well. If they want a little cushion on the top, I will just search for one of those fluffy mattress pads.

I WANTED ONE OF THOSE PIRATE BEDS AT COSTCO!!! My DH and I stood infront of that and admired it and lamented our kids were grown...and our grand kids don't live in SA...and even thought we could adopt just ONE more someday and THAT would give us reason to buy the bed and set it up...but alas, common sense pervailed and we walked out of Costco that trip with King Crab Legs and a good bottle of wine instead. Those beds are THE COOLEST bed I have ever seen!

This thread was very helpful. I wouldn't go to Billy Bob's either just because of their online reviews. We are also looking for a mattress (we already have a boxspring). I'm going to look into HEB Plus and Costco. Thanks again!

I personally would shop around and see which one feels good then see online if you can get a better price for it.

I decided I liked the Temper Pedic (I have had back problems) but I ended up getting a FAR better deal online then I could have gotten in the store AND they sent a couple guys to set it up for me and would have taken away my old bed if I needed them to.

I used a website called The Healthy Back Store - Back related products for sitting, working, sleeping, relaxing, and self therapy.*The Healthy Back stores are located nation wide.

Hey thanks everybody! I have decided to go to HEB Plus and try it out and then check out Costco! I appreciate all of your responses. I had to laugh about the Billy Bob's commercial, I have never heard or seen one (I just don't pay attention I guess) but now I just want to see it to see what you are talking about. Tee hee hee! Thanks again!

Default I love that commercial....

Billy bob beds jeepers sleepers. I am trying to find that commercial online somewhere. I like to play it when a bill collector calls for someone who does not live here or some other nusiance. Does anyone have an audio clip. I use to hear it on KJ or Q 1019 I always miss the chance to tape it.

The Mattress store right off Bandera and 410, behind Jims, good prices, and not recovered hotel mattresses like some of the others with a lot of BBBs in their names
