Anyone know if the closure is permanent and, if it is, any rumors on what may be opening in its place? This is the Dollar General near the park across from Thousand Oaks Cafe.

I walked there on Thursday night and there was a Store Closed sign on the door. All the products had been removed so either they are planning a major remodel or they've permanently closed. Just wondering if anyone knew anything. It's just so convenient to walk to when I needed a gallon of milk or had a sweet tooth craving.

Don't really know. The Schertz Dollar General is cloded. Says for remodeling. It still has all the merchandise. Now the one you are talking about might have the merchandise removed to do the remodel. When the remodel is finished they will I assume restock the store.

I went during the "Store Closing Sale" to pick up some wasp spray (because I want all of them to die) and asked the cashier why they were closing. She said the landlord raised the rent, so they were moving. I asked where, and she said something like Universal City or something like that. I just chuckled and said, "well that's nowhere nearby". She gave me the most indifferent, blank look at me, and literally said nothing more. In order to break the awkward silence I just smiled and told her thanks and have a great day. Why are people so odd? haha

That's a shame. It was such a convenient location to walk to if I didn't feel like driving anywhere. Ah well, hopefully a similar store will move in soon.
