OK...forgive me if the answer is posted here somewhere...I did not read all 39 pages of this thread...but did that steak place behind Rudys at 151 close? We just went to Rudys for lunch (had to get some goodies to take to our friends in Germany) and it LOOKED closed. I don't know, maybe just closed on Sundays (?)...strange, but Chick Fil A gets away with it so who knows. Not a car in site....we ate there once, was ok, but overpriced.

Just tried a newer place, the BAR B QUE BUCKETT at Austin Highway at Lanark. Took some brisket home, pretty good, nice and juicy. They serve country breakfasts in the mornings and have all you can eat ribs on Wed and fried fish on Fri. They said they used to have a location at Marbach. I'm sure I'll be back to try more

I'm not too familiar with that area, but the only pricey steak house I know of that was near that Rudy's location was the Barn Door. That Barn Door location closed down about three years ago, and I don't think it had been open there all that long. The original location on N New Braunfels just inside 410 is still in business.

It reopened as Stockyards about a year or so ago. Not sure if it's still open....I've never been based on the bad reviews I've read here and other places.

davi78239 is on a distinguished road
The place on 410 where the old tom's ribs was is now open. It is a seafood place. Looks like they've done it up nicely and I wouldn't mind trying it. They advertise lunch specials and all you can eat fish. Has anyone been yet? If so, tell us how it is and what the prices are like.

I think the one on Nachodoches is a Bayseas now. I haven't eaten at one for years but they were good and inexpensive then.

Someone just told me the other day that it did close. I think just the dance hall and bar is still open but the restaurant is closed. I agree, the food was OK, but a little pricey. I'll never forget our first visit there. They had a vegetarian waitress. How she ever got a job there, in a steak restaurant...

Too funny...she waited on us too. She had just moved here from somewhere on the west coast I remember her saying...but VERY enthuastic service...thought it a little odd given her convictions.

I know 20Nine in the Quarry is far from new, but I did go there for HH for the first time last week.

All apps, pizzas and wines are 25% off until 7pm.

Was able to share a bottle of wine, an app and a pizza with a gal friend, we split the bill in half, $25 tab per person before tip.

Had left over food too.
