Sandwich de Paris is not a chain, as far as I know that's it's only location. They use real (crusty on the outside, soft on the inside) french bread. The owner is always there (at least I think that's him), and there's another family that works there.
I always order the Veggie Melt. I've had a few others but I really like that and prefer to not have meat (only on sandwiches, I'm not a vegetarian), so I stick with it.
Sandwich + soup or salad + drink = ~6.50.
Did I already mention Bubblehead? (This thread is too long to go back, apologies if I'm repeating myself). It's a new Bubble tea and hookah place, and they do some Thai food as well, though it's not a restaurant. The teas are served with (or without) tapioca pearls and it's not like 'tea' but more like fruit drinks or smoothies. It's sort of an Art bar in the Southtown district on S. Presa, across from Taco Haven. I highly recommend it. The two couples who run it are wonderful.

Not a new place but they have great Thai & Chinese food. Asia Kitchen @ West Pond & SW Loop 410 (across the street from the old K-Mart). I've eaten there for years and have never been disappointed.

New Orleans Seafood and Soul Food on S O'Conner Rd going toward Converse is in the top 10 new restaurant in SA. I would put this any hotel or fining dining restaurant in the city.
I wish my Hispanic brother and sister would try to venture out of just eating Mexican food or the traditional Chinese food and try other ethnic restaurants

Here I am quoting myself (been a long-g-g day). Dropped by the place, only a couple of workmen there. The building is being remodeled and it appears that it's going to be at least 30 days or more before it's open. That is all.

I don't get anybody's fascination with On the Border's food. Seems like they borrowed some recipes from Taco Smell or Taco not-so-bueno. With all the Tex-Mex competition here, I don't know how they'll survive.
