It didn't look closed the other day. BTW, the Thai place in that place does well. It's crowded at lunch and is decent.

Speaking of Goombas, wife just confirmed that one is going in at the old Bellacinos in schertz. Should I be happy or not? I've eaten at the original when it was the only one and it was good. Now I'm hearing all this bad stuff since they've been aggressively expanding and boy they aren't wasting anytime doing that. Someone must have hit the jackpot that's all I have to say cause these are going up like no tomorrow.

I read somewhere that the Mickey d's in stone oak is the most expensive one made. Wonder if its because of the value of the property?

No, if the Stone Oak location truly is the most expensive McDonald's ever built, it's certainly NOT because of the property value. McDonald's builds locations in places where land is FAR more expensive, like Hong Kong, Tokyo, NYC, San Francisco, London, etc. Seriously, San Antonio is not the center of the universe.

Hahahahaha! One of 'em in NYC has a grand piano on the 2nd floor. Now THAT's a McD's I'll go to the ladies room in....which is about all they are good for.

I heard the same thing but it sounds like a rumor. The land surely isn't expensive and the restaurant itself is relatively small. I'm not sure why they didn't make it bigger. The materials inside and out are definitely nice, but I wouldn't think that would make it much more expensive.

Speaking of the intersection of the new McDonald's at Stone Oak and Hardy Oak, I heard that there will be another restaurant going in at the SW corner (empty lot across from the Temple and McDonalds). Has anyone else heard this?

... And that's Stone Oak to me: Just another McDonalds. Granted, I know what it's like living out on Wilderness Oak and wanting more development, but a McD's is not what that area needs. Perhaps a gas station to replace the Shell they annexed for the never-coming 281 expansion?

Again, responsible growth. Grow UP, not sideways.
