Thurmunz is moving to North New Braunfels soon. Food was ok - a touch overpriced. New one will be more steak house in menu selections according to waitress.
The owner shut down the Grissini's in Lincoln Heights and opened a new one in Castle Hills, where the I-Hop express and Kenny Roger's Roaster's used to be. Its called Rossini's Bistro and will offer a more casual dining experienced and isn't as pricey

I hope Rossini's can be more successful than the previous restaurant tenants in that space, which also would include La Rosita (1999-2008).

Well, they were never really much of a steakhouse anyway, so I suppose the lost liquor license is just a continued step in the wrong direction. Eek.

BN (who can neither confirm, nor deny the existence of hooch at Ounce)

Ounce Update:

I called, they have new owners who can't get a liquor license. But they do invite you to go to the Gabriels Liquor next door and grab a bottle of wine they will let you drink with dinner. Huh...

Agreed. That place just seems to be a bad luck location. I don't understand why, you have all that traffic on West and Military, plus Castle Hills Baptist church across the street. Although, I doubt Rossini's will be open Sundays.

I also drove by the old Chammp's yesterday on I-10 and Huebner. There were about 6 cars in the parking lot (this is about 10:30pm) the lights were all one and there were some people inside who looked like they were surveying the place. Don't know if they were looking at the property, or getting ready to renovate it for a new restaurant. I'll keep checking back...
