I love Shakes! That was my first summer job about 4 years ago. If it's the same family opening the location on Stone Oak that is quite a turn around from where it was when I left it in 2004 when they were moving people from the location near Holmes to the location on De Zavala to save some money. I had also heard they weren't evenusing logo cups at some point. Last time I went though, they were.

I've got to say, though, getting a Shake at Shakes can make anyone's day.

Express-News Food section shows two openings this week:

Roaring Fork, 1806 N Loop 1604 W (1604 @ Huebner), opens Monday (I drove by there last night and saw that the parking lot was packed) and features "wood-fired American cuisine." Welcome to Eddie V's

Syn Sushi and Robata Bar is now open at 11703 Huebner Rd.

Also, fans of and people living close to the former Eclipse Cafe at Huebner and NW Military will be glad to know that Frederick's Bistro will be opening in that space on September 1. It'll be run by Frederick Costa, who operates Frederick's at 7701 Broadway.

Ooh, I can't wait for Frederick's Bistro to open! I love Frederick's. He has wonderful food at his main restaurant so I'm sure his bistro will be great as well. Thanks for the info!

I love Culver's. I got kind of burnt out on their butterburgers when I was pregnant but they have the best turkey noodle soup and I love the frozen custard.

There's a new article on the SA Business Journal web site with the headline "More Arby's are planned for San Antonio." The bizjournals site appears to be down right now, but I'll post the link, with the expectation it will work later.

More Arby's are planned for San Antonio - San Antonio Business Journal:

[edit] It appears the link won't open if you click it directly, but if you right-click and open in a new window or tab, it opens fine. Weird.

Anyway, the article says that the franchise holder has secured rights to open 4 more restaurants (total) in Austin and San Antonio.

The DW will be thrilled if they can put one closer then the 13 miles one way trip to one now. Doing the math here...26 miles...12 miles to the gallon...yikes! That would be quite a few more sandwiches!

I saw diners inside the restaurant last Thursday, but it appears that the name has changed to Pasha Mediterranean Grill. Their website is unfinished, but available here:

PASHA Mediterranean Grill 9339 Wurzbach Rd San Antonio, Texas

I'll give it a try this week.

We ate at the Red Robin at the Rim while out on a shopping day yesterday...that place makes GREAT burgers! Only 2nd time at any Red Robin, but impressed both times.

Yesterday DH had the Pabalano Pepper burger, I had their BBQ (guy said it was their most popular)...both VERY tasty!! I had tried their Blue Chees before, loved it too.

Anyway, they DID confirm that a Red Robin is going into the Alamo Ranch area and is scheduled to open Feb 09 according to current schedule.

Just in case anyone else likes the place!!
