I emailed Dealof the Day SA and within 24 hours had credits for my certificates for Calypso which closed before we got to use them...just pop them and email and they will credit your account right away!

As always, hope this helps! (the ENTIRE reason for CDF to begin with)

A while ago, I incorrectly identifed a restaurant as russian when it was Fusion - on Babcock and Huebner. Seems to be in business now - a Middle Eastern, bakery, cafe, hookah - there are a good number in this area and the last one at the location failed - Caravan Grill. See if this one makes it.

The Pasha's on 1604 seems to be doing well when I drive by it.

Poor Calypso - they put up a big sign and then folded. The Oolong's up the road is doing OK - I like it.

I realize this might not generate as much buzz here than the latest Texas Roadhouse or Chili's opening, but Bliss, on South Presa is opening Feb 9.

Chef Bliss returning with new restaurant - San Antonio Express-News

And a more recent article http://www.savorsa.com/2011/12/bliss...-opening-soon/

They're delayed from original opening plans, of course, but set to open this week. The place looks gorgeous, inside and out! So exciting.

Noticed Salpico's Baja Grill on Babcock and 410 has closed down. Good riddance. Staff that acted like you were bothering them when they took your order and a menu that was impossible to read and order from. When they charged me $7 for a spoonful of ceviche that was clearly salad shrimp mixed with HEB's pico de gallo (I know this because I make it that way myself when I'm being lazy), I vowed I was never going back. Damn good tortilla chips, though. Thick.

That location may be as unlucky as that place that's been Yacht Club / Wish / Big Daddy's... goes through at least one restaurant a year.
