These are good days if you like sushi.

And now its closed.

OK...report on the "Martha's Mexican Cafe" on 151 and Military, behind Rudys BBQ sharing the building with the "Stockyard Bar"....went there for lunch with a friend.

They are owned by the "Babcock" location portion of the family, which is GREAT in our estimation! We use to live up in the medical center area and LOVED that location (altho I know there have been complaints, to include ours, on the 281 location)...anyway....went for lunch, had great food and VERY reasonable. 2 teas, 2 lunch enchilada dinner plates and a shared entree for $26. Can't beat that with a stick. They DO make their own homemade flour tortillas (like at Babcock location), and are gettng the bar area ready for full bar service (they HAVE only been open a week now)....and we were very happy with the quality and atmosphere. I hope they get the patio area going...because in the spring and summer, that is a GREAT thing.

Right now, CLOSED ON SUNDAYS!!!! They open at 7am on Sat, and open until at least 9pm M-F and until 11pm on Sat.

Lets all in this area give them the business they need to be open on Sundays, cause they are sure hoping for that.

Talked to the "mgr" there...they appreciate "getting the word out" altho he said there seems to be a lot of word of mouth advertising that they have opened up for only a week out.

GREATFUL for the quality of food available so close. Just hoping that the Sunday thing works for them soon, cause we LOVE to do the Marthas for breakfast on the weekend thing....one of our FAV meals at Martha's are the breakfast plates (chiliquelias)....

I would rate it 8 of 10!

Anyone know what will be going into the 2 buildings being renovated on Broadway near the Oak Park Cleaners (2500 block of Broadway)? I believe one of the buildings was a former Bonanza or other similar inexpensive steak chain. One of the women who works at the cleaners told me she heard both were going to be restaurants but didn't know any more details.

just noticed Dunkin Donuts put up a sign on Thousand Oaks and Naco where the new Walmart is going.

Also noticed the Raising Canes and Del Taco are being built right next to each other off of Culebra just outside 1604
