Papa Murphy's on Hildebrand has closed for good.

I didn't know this until I pulled up with a coupon good for THAT day only, only to find out they had closed for good on the day before. Sign in the window directs customers to their "nearest location" at 281 & Evans Rd.

So there is no longer any central or downtown-ish Papa Murphy's location. My kids love their pizza. Heck, I love their pizza and I don't really even like pizza. I just know that making the trek to the other location will not be a common thing for us. I think the Hildebrand location was a bad choice though; it was in a kind of run down little bitty strip center and a lot of people I talked who live in this area didn't even know Papa Murphy's was over there. Would have been better off on San Pedro somewhere I think.

Anyway, FYI for those inside the loop.

Strangely enough, Papa Murphy's recently opened a location in Boerne (in the old Marble Slab space). I'm not a fan of them from past experiences, but hopefully it works out for the new spot.

151 and Ingram (In front of the Comfort Inn)

I did a BCAD search and Juan Pablo Guerrero owns the land being built on.

He also owns three El Rodeo De Jalisco's...

Sad to me. And weird. 50 gazillion taco places stay open... ? I don't know, we always commented on how great of a deal the pizzas were. Maybe they weren't charging enough? Also sad to see that there aren't any in San Marcos, where we are moving this summer.

I should open a taco place where I have all the ingredients there needs to be for a taco..send you home with these ingredients only to have you cook it yourself. I can see why Papa Murpheys is failing.

So can I. I don't get the concept at all. The one time I tried it, it was terrible.

Personally I love Papa Murphy's, get the pizza made and go home and cook it yourself to the level of doneness you want. You can wait a few hours to cook it and not relying on pizza delivery guys delivering pizza fresh. Ingredients are fresh and quality. I really don't see how you can screw up one of their pizza's unless you have either a crappy stove or literally have zero skills with anything other than a microwave.

Part of what makes a good pizza is the oven, your oven at home just cant do it the same. If I am going to cook it my self Ill just buy a tombstone or something similar, it tastes exactly the same any ways.
